There's plenty of things for you to do and activities during your stay at Gwarffynnon Farm, no matter the weather!
The excellent sandy beaches of Cardigan Bay are all close at hand with the picturesque harbour town of Aberaeron 11 miles from the farm. Walking, golf, sea fishing trips, horse riding and plenty of water sport facilities are available in the area.
At Lampeter, there are restaurants, cafes and public houses. There are also two supermarkets, small family run shops, an organic shop and a fortnightly farmers market. Lampeter is the home of the oldest University College in Wales. Although it is now part of the federal structure of the University of Wales, Saint David's University College is the oldest degree-awarding institution in Wales and England after Oxford and Cambridge. The Romans once mined for gold near Lampeter, at Pumpsaint. In the eighteenth century Lampeter was an important gathering place for the Drovers. These people gathered huge herds of livestock to be walked all the way to the markets of southeast England. The Drovers established some of Wales' oldest banking institutions - all of which have now been assimilated into UK banks - but the sign of the rearing horse maintained by Lloyds remains to remind present generations of these merchants of long ago as the horse is, indeed, a Welsh mountain pony. There is splendid countryside scenery to be enjoyed in the Lampeter area - and wonderful angling on the river Teifi.
The area boasts a variety of attractions, from the National Library of Wales at Aberystwyth, which is the home to many national Welsh treasures and other Celtic countries, to seaside boat trips, nature reserves, cycle and walking paths, Ceredigion has many experiences waiting for you to explore. Inspiration for the famous poet Dylan Thomas the area is stunningly framed by the Cambrian Mountains.
Award-winning beaches and iconic harbours make the Ceredigion coast a beautiful place to visit. Ceredigion boasts some of the finest beaches in Britain, all dotted along the UK's first Marine Heritage Coast. Cardigan Bay is a Special Area of Conservation famous for its resident population of dolphins and porpoise.
Bwcabus is an on demand fully accessible local bus service and is tailored to the needs of the passengers.
